I grew up in a Deaf household. Long before I became an interpreter, I saw what happens when communication fails at the doctor’s office or the pharmacy counter: confusion, missed instructions, and real risk to someone I loved.
For 35 years since, I’ve worked as a sign language interpreter, including two decades in Video Relay Service, where I interpreted thousands of medical conversations. Over and over, I saw the same problems:
These weren’t gaps in compassion. They were gaps in the system.
What I built
Visible Access Health gives every patient clear medication instructions they can take home: short ASL videos, plus written instructions in English and Spanish, opened by a QR code on the bag. The routine instructions are handled the same careful way every time. Pharmacists still counsel their patients, and live interpreters are saved for the conversations that truly need them.
Our Mission
Every patient, regardless of hearing ability or language, should leave the pharmacy knowing how to take their medicine.
