A Future Where Every Patient Leaves with Clarity

Our Vision

The New Standard of Pharmacy Equity

We envision a healthcare system where communication is a foundation of safety, not a barrier to care. Our goal is a future where every patient—regardless of the language they speak or how they hear—leaves the pharmacy with the clarity and confidence to manage their health safely.

At Visible Access, we are operationalizing equity by transforming accessibility from a reactive service into a dependable, built-in system of care.

The Pillars of Our Vision

  • Embedded Accessibility, Not Afterthought CareWe see a future where communication infrastructure is intentionally designed into pharmacy operations. Accessibility shouldn’t be a "layered-on" response to a problem; it should be a standardized, scalable part of the medication counseling workflow.
  • Enhanced Human Connection Through TechnologyTechnology should never replace the pharmacist-patient bond—it should strengthen it. Our vision preserves the vital role of qualified interpreters for complex clinical needs while ensuring that routine, high-quality ASL and Spanish medication education is structured and repeatable across every location.
  • Sustainability Meets ComplianceWe believe that providing equitable care must be financially and operationally sustainable. By stabilizing communication processes and reducing variability, we enable health systems to meet ADA standards and improve patient outcomes without disrupting the pace of a modern pharmacy.

The Story Behind Visible Access

A Bridge Built from 35 Years of Advocacy

Growing up in a Deaf household, our founder, Lisa, saw firsthand what happens when communication fails in healthcare. She witnessed the confusion, the quiet anxiety, and the very real risks that emerge when a patient leaves a pharmacy without fully understanding their medication.

These weren't gaps in compassion—they were gaps in the system.

The Problem with "On-Demand" Care

With over 35 years as a professional interpreter—including two decades in Video Relay Service (VRS)—Lisa navigated thousands of complex medical conversations. She saw a recurring, systemic flaw:

  • Inconsistent Availability: Interpreters weren't always there when the patient was.
  • Unpredictable Costs: Pharmacies struggled to balance budgets with ADA compliance.
  • Clinical Variability: Standard video relay services are designed for general conversation, not the high-stakes, specialized world of medication education.

Lisa realized that pharmacies were being forced to choose between operational efficiency and patient safety. She knew there had to be a better way.

The Birth of Visible Access

Visible Access was created to move pharmacy communication from an unpredictable service to a dependable infrastructure. By blending Lisa’s lived experience with decades of clinical interpreting expertise and scalable technology, we’ve built a pharmacy-adjacent model that doesn't just "layer on" an interpreter—it embeds clarity into the workflow.

Our model is designed to:

  • Center Patient Understanding: Ensuring the message is received, not just delivered.
  • Integrate Seamlessly: Protecting the pharmacist’s time and the pharmacy’s bottom line.
  • Prioritize Clinical Quality: Utilizing communication professionals specifically trained for healthcare environments.
  • Engage Human Expertise Strategically: Deploying live support exactly when it's clinically necessary.
